The Tea Rooms will be seeing us again soon!! I came here with my mum to celebrate her birthday and it was a really lovely experience. The staff were very friendly and genuinely cared about providing good service. The food was delicious, I had the sandwiches and lemon tart and I will be coming back for more!

You may have never eaten a cake at The tea rooms 1892. However, you probably haven’t eaten it just once.

Many of cake shops in my experience, if the cake is good, the coffee is not good, and if the coffee is good, the cake is not good.

If you are looking for a place where coffee and cake are perfectly delicious and harmoney, I highly recommend The tea room 1892.

I always satisfied of the amazing food and their customers services, therefore I always go for a cake at the tea rooms 1892.

The desserts were amazing! I had the vanilla slice, pecan tart and passionfruit cheescake – they were not overly sweet which was perfect and addictive. They have a large range of different teas which made it so hard to decide which one to choose! But nevertheless, the Colonille and Strawberry Kisses tea was aromatic and wonderful. Service here was top-notched. I am excited to visit again!

If you’re drawn in by the cake window, you will not be disappointed by the friendly staff and devine tea service . Honestly the nicest tea i’ve ever had can highly recommend Colonielle and the affagato was to die for . Thanks for a beautiful introduction to Melbourne.

Enjoyed the food, Unfortunately they forgot to bring my drink.

We finally made it here after so many years of waiting for our kids to be old enough to sit still and respect the history of this special place. We will be back..

This is my favourite place for lunch and cake.

It has been a tradition for my sons and I to come every year at Christmas.

First time at the tea rooms and it won’t be our last. It’s a wonderful experience, from the visual splendour, amazing food and teas to the fantastic staff who catered to our every need, this is well worth a visit.

I love how this place makes me feel like I’m at a cafe in Paris, with French music in the background and the most delectable cakes. It is so cosy and gives you such a warm feeling. I will definitely be back there again!

Kids spent ages oogling at the windows but the lines were too long for us to get a table this time. We definitely will bring them back – they found the arcade fascinating with all the little figurines around the place. Good old fashion fun for all.

Fear not, the famous tea rooms are still going but have rebranded – some sort of kafuffle with IP on the old name.

Our experience yesterday was so great. I got a Snow White tea which was warm and sweet and lovely. I had a chocolate cake and my parents got a pavlova and cappuccinos.

Really enjoyed the sandwiches, fabulous cakes and specialty teas we sampled. Highly recommend!

Delicious cake and great coffee. So lovely to see a grandma shouting her small grand daughter to an experience she will remember.

A place full of charm and history. Loved the old photos on the wall and we thoroughly enjoyed our fig tart, lemon tart and tea.

I’ve been gazing in the window of this amazing shop all of my life, but I’ve either been in a hurry or the queue has been enormous outside. Finally I had the time and it wasn’t toooo crowded! I had just had lunch so didn’t need food but the cakes looked truly magnificent and the menu included some yummy sandwiches and scones that I’d like to try next time I’m visiting Melbourne, I had the Bard’s Tempest tea, a blend of EB and Ceylon and it was excellent. Plenty in the pot to refill my cup twice as well. Staff. Super friendly, I’ll definitely not wait so long to go in again!

Not quite a 5 star as the place was so busy that the service was a bit slow. But food was so good, the cakes to die for, so all in all, worth the wait.

We’ve been wanting to try this institution for a while now but there’s always long queues at the front. We finally managed to experience it on the inside and taste the lemon tart and the cheese cake – both delicious. A definite air of old world charm – a great experience.

Our biggest fear was that the cakes look amazing but would let us down taste wise. Glad to report it wasn’t the case – these are as delicious as they look. The staff were lovely and even packed our left over slice for us to take home (eyes were bigger than our stomachs)

Nice food and nice ambiance.

Popped in to have lunch at the Tea Rooms 1892 as per tradition before flying home. Friendly welcoming staff & great food ensured our lunch was another fabulous holiday memory. Can’t wait to return !

Apart from tea and cakes, there is an amazing Barista that serves good coffee with a beautiful coffee art.

I look forward to visiting this place again!
